Step 1: Unlock the Barn Find Rumor
If you drive straight to the barn location right after starting the game, you will just find a closed door. To get the car, you have to unlock the specific Barn Find Rumor first. This particular rumor is tied directly to your campaign progression.
Here is exactly how to trigger it:
Fire up your campaign menu and head over to the Collector's Journal.
Find the "Discover Japan" stamp collection tab.
You need to grind your way up to Level 7: Master Explorer. Reaching this rank requires earning a Gold Stamp, which will officially trigger the rumor on your map.
Quick progression tip: To hit Level 7 fast, clear out the yellow map markers. Focus heavily on story missions, touge events, and standard road races across the map to rack up the points you need.
Step 2: Head to the Barn Location
Once the purple search circle pops up on your map, make your way over to the scenic Ito region.
Finding the hidden path can be a bit tricky if you don't know what you are looking for. Follow these directions to pinpoint it:
Pin the Yahikoyama Curve Speed Trap on your map.
Head to the main asphalt road positioned directly above this speed trap.
As you cruise down this road, look closely at the shoulder for a small, narrow, teardrop-shaped dirt path branching off into the thick tree line.
Turn onto this dirt track and follow it down through the forest. It will lead you straight to the old, weathered barn hiding the Nissan.
Step 3: Wait for the Restoration (or Pay to Skip)
Once you arrive, pull up to the doors to trigger the classic cinematic sequence. Your crew will pull the dust cover off the Skyline and haul it back to the garage.
Because the car has been sitting in a damp barn for decades, it is going to need some serious love before you can hit the streets. At this point, you have two choices:
